I figured that I would get one more post out to close out a busy December! I suppose some quick reflections on 2022 are in order:
For the world: 2022 will finally be remembered as the year that Coronamania finally disappeared. Even China gave in their draconian policies and masking and vaccine checks in the States are limited to only the nuttiest sectors of blue. But beyond that, the world continues to get more chaotic. We now add economic strife to the list, corrupt political structures, and burgeoning war cries. I’ve written elsewhere and will address it more in 2023: I wouldn’t quite say I’m expecting a collapse of society in the next five years, but the odds of it happening are a lot higher than one would expect.
For me: 2022 was good. I won’t bore you too much with the details here. My career is going well, my marriage is still strong, we have a good group of friends, and I have a lot of fun projects that I can divert my time toward.
I now have a pretty decent writing setup that solves a lot (but not all) of my inertia about where to publish various types of content, so I am optimistic that I’ll be able to keep some semblance of regularity in 2023, even if I expect life to be predictably chaotic!
With all that said, I wanted to give a brief follow-up to The Four Publications by highlighting some of the new posts, which you probably missed! I did not auto-subscribe anyone to those, so if you are interested in one or two of them (or all three) please go and subscribe (that can be done directly in this post).
Principles
The Book of Principles has gotten started with four installments. Long-time readers may remember my “One Daily Thought” series that I ran back in 2019. The Book of Principles is a rebuild around that content.
Start off with #1 - There is Truth and go from there:
If there is one I’d like you to subscribe to, it’d be this one (just enter your e-mail in the box below). We’ll be posting about once a week here and will keep things generally short and to the point and generally keep it focused around ideas and concepts remaining relatively apolitical. Please check it out!
Productivity
HOP is my home for Productivity-related content. A large chunk of that is focused on Notion, but I do have other content planned on fitness and education-related topics. But to get a sense, check out my Productivity In Notion series:
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my two New Year’s Notion templates if anyone is looking to do some last minute planning for 2023:
The HOP New Year Template - follows the process I use to review my year around different areas of life, brainstorm plans for 2023, and commit to a subset of them!
The One New Thing! Template - which follows my sister’s approach to a new year of trying to do one new thing, big or small, every week of the year. A great way to add some variety into the coming year!
Note: these templates are both free, but provided via gumroad to collect e-mail addresses as to alert to future updates!
We’ll post 1-2 pieces a month to HOP, so check it out and subscribe if you are interested!
Tech & Data
Bizlandia will be my home for industry-related topics. While I am not trying to hide any of the content here on A Moment with Mumma (I stand by it), it felt strange to mix a post about Data Science in between contrarian posts decrying the Covid insanity of 2020 to 2022. So this is best kept separate.
I started off Bizlandia with a post on ChatGPT which I highly encourage you to check out!
We’ll only post about once a month to Bizlandia, so please subscribe if you want some tech and data-related content!
Beyond shamelessly advertising my own content, I also wanted to thank you for reading A Moment with Mumma in 2022 and wish you a happy and healthy 2023.
It means a lot to me that anyone, let alone that several hundred people take time out of their day to read what I write on occasion. So thank you again. Here’s hoping a happy and healthy start to your 2023!
