A Little Backstory
A Moment with Mumma was the name given to the back page parody series that I wrote in college for the Lehigh Patriot.
Since then, I’ve enjoyed writing as a way to help structure my thoughts and how to communicate ideas effectively.
I’ve gone through several iterations over the past 15 years, but my hope is that this Substack will be the last stop for a while.
What Will Be Covered?
I will typically write a couple articles per month that comments on some aspect of politics, culture, or technology.
My goal for any topic is to try to uncover the truth, complex and messy though it may be. At the end of the day, I want to be someone who you can trust.
The views shared here are solely my own, and do not reflect those of my employer, or any of the businesses and organizations that I am affiliated with.
Who Are You?
Hi! I’m Ben Mumma. I work in the software industry, particularly within the Data & AI space. I’m in my 30’s and moved to Texas a few years ago after living in Washington D.C. for 10 years after graduating college from Lehigh University.
Beyond politics and culture, self-improvement has been a big focus of mine. I founded (and shut down) a habit tracking platform called WeAchieve. My latest effort to help people improve is The Human Optimization Project. Check it out for ideas around productivity, health and fitness, crypto, and more!
Other than all that, my hobbies include running (will be running my 11th marathon in early 2022), golfing (former scratch golfer), and building various things both in the physical and digital worlds.
