April Round-up
It's been a while here, but some news on what I've been up to! Plus some fiery takes.
Alrighty, admittedly, I’ve been a bit MIA here since the end of February. I certainly feel bad about that disappearance, so today’s post is focused on what I’ve been up to. While not quite political, I think it should be of some interest, or at least, I hope so!
So here is the gist: since January I’ve been working on several start-up concepts full-time. Two of those are products that I am working with friends on to help them bring to market. One is a consumer product, the other is a particularly innovative data storage solution that holds substantial promise. And I’ll say more about both in the future as they get close to launching.
The third thing, for my own part, is crafting my own consulting and software business. And this, I can say a bit more about, all of which is reflected at my completely overhauled website: www.mumma.co.
What I’ve built out here is primarily:
My consulting business which is focused on AI, Data, and Tech Strategy. Check it out and please pass along to any leads or reach out directly there (you can setup a chat with a couple clicks): www.mumma.co/consulting
Our initial focused offerings are a small AI Strategy engagement, a mid-sized Product Development Starter Kit, and a slightly larger Data Architecture review.
Whether or not any of those sound of interest, please do reach out as I’m anxious to get some early clients and positive testimonials going!
A few different web apps that I have started up (and will continue to build upon). All of these are free and will remain so, but I do have some ideas about building some premium features eventually. But they are:
The Expound Word Game - This is based off a fun concept my mom came up with for road trips: you see 3 letters on a license plate and you have to come up with a word that has those letters in that order within the word. It’s fun and easy to play for both kids and adults, so check it out: www.mumma.co/expound
WeAchieve Lite - I’ve done a complete reimagining and overhaul of the habit tracking software that I had worked on with a good friend back in 2018/2019. In this case, it took less than a week to build out a good 80/20 of the functionality that provides fast, easy, and private habit tracking with some essential analytics and goal setting. Please check it out and use it (it’s free): www.mumma.co/weacheive
An aside: visit the Human Optimization Project for more on habit tracking and other aspects of self improvement:
Math24 Solver - this was super quick, but it’s handy to have a quick and easy way to solve Math24 cards. For those unfamiliar, Math24 is a game where you have 4 numbers on a card and have to make 24 by using each number only once by adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing. You can also play this with a simple deck of playing cards. E.g. if you had 3,4,5,6 you could do: 4-3=1, 5-1=4, 6*4=24. So if you need to solve one, check it out: www.mumma.co/m24
And a few more things, some of which you can explore now, some of which will be coming soon!
All of the above has been built from the ground up, which has been incredibly rewarding. And while I don’t exactly see any of the three things generating revenue, I wanted to build them as a “proof of work” of sorts to demonstrate that I do know tech, data, and how to build a good product.
But please, as the ultimate measure of a product is the amount of valuable use, please give them a try and let me know what you think or if you need something built in!
And I’ve got a bit more in the pipeline. As you might expect given my recent posts around GPT4, several involve building tools that will leverage GPT4 in exciting ways.
So if you’ve missed some of my AI pieces, be sure to check them out:
And I do have to say: so much of this has been enabled and expedited by GPT4. What would have taken weeks took days, and problems that used to be roadblocks now can be brainstormed together with an intelligent AI.
Given all of this, I have been relatively disengaged from the political and Covid-related topics that have traditionally been the focus of this blog. I can’t say for sure how long that’ll last, so I’ll throw a few fiery takes behind the paywall… for now. As much as I want to lay it out in public, an article announcing my business ventures doesn’t seem like the right time and place.
