A Moment With Mumma: Rebooted!
As some of you know, I’ve been writing all over different places over the past 10+ years. A brief accounting:
The Lehigh Patriot - 2007-2011
A Moment With Mumma I (www.mumma.co) - 2011-2020
Ex Medius - 2017-2018
WeAchieve - 2018-2020
Heretics’ Island - 2020-2021
First off - if you are receiving this as an e-mail, it is because you had signed up for the newsletter from one of these. What can you expect from here? Relatively infrequent (likely 1-2 per month) op-eds delivered straight to your inbox. Coming up later today: we’re talking Covid and mass psychosis!
That said, if you don’t want to be on this list, feel free to unsubscribe (link will be at the bottom). No hard feelings!
In an effort to consolidate my writing, it will now all be in one of two places:
For non-political content on self-improvement: The Human Optimization Project. I’d like to turn this into an effort broader eventually, but this will keep covering topics of productivity, principles, health & fitness, business, crypto, and education. Please check it out!
And here: the second (or third) reincarnation of A Moment with Mumma. This will be the home for op-eds on politics and culture. I am doing this on Substack for the ease of maintaining an e-mail list, a better writing experience, and the the options available to grow this newsletter on the Substack platform.
With the frenetic pace of cancellations in recent years, I have vacillated for a while over the benefits of publishing pseudonymously vs. publishing under my own name. It is a risk for anyone who wants to deviate, even slightly, from the “party line.”
But damn it, I’m tired of letting all of this insanity come to pass and staying silent or hiding my views under a pseudonym. If someone wants to try to cancel me, then come at me. Let’s go. Nothing I plan to say will ever advocate violence, nor will it treat any group of humans poorly on the basis of innate characteristics.
So I’m done letting the enemies of Liberty and Free Speech push the culture of fear that they relish in. The stakes are too damn high.
We desperately need to start pushing back on a lot of the insane things being said and done these days by an out-of-touch and unwilling-to-listen class of urban elites. We need to remember why some of these principles that our forefathers fought so hard for in founding this country are worth preserving for every American. And we need to identify and root out corruption and cronyism within our political and economic landscape no matter where it sits.
The best way for me to do that is under my own name, both to leverage my credibility and demonstrate that I have skin in the game. Those that know me well can certainly attest to this: I abhor any regurgitation of a party line or a convenient untruth.
“The Truth” is often hard to find, always messy. But it does exist, and my goal is to get as close to it as possible.
